Veseli Halychani Workshop
On Saturday 27th January, Ukrainian folk group and dancers Veseli Halychani from Ternopil in Ukraine visited Bradford to join the community in celebrating Independance, commemorating Kruty and the annual carol concert.
Earlier in the day following the end of Ukrainian school, sumivtsi and children took part in a dance workshop lead by dancers Larisa Lirska and Yurij Jakybiw accompanied by Alexander Chykalow on accordian.
Larisa and Yurij first put the boys through basic steps and movements followed by the girls. The workshop ended with a mixed dance performed by all the children that took part in the workshop and the children all thanked Larisa, Yurij and Alexander for a thoroughly enjoyable session.
